The German E-Commerce and Distance Selling Trade Association (bevh) was established in 1947 with the aim of a) representing the interests of its members with regard to legal legislation and institutional bodies and of b) providing information and counselling, and creating the structures necessary for a dialogue amongst its members.
Currently it has a dynamically growing membership of large and small distance selling companies using the sales channels internet, catalogue, direct sales and TV. They include both firms with a very narrow product range and others with 100,000 articles and more in their inventory.
Consisting of a team of experts who politely co-designed the framework conditions of the industry and joined the members into a strong network, the bevh forms a voice in the online and mail-order business. The speed of a dynamic industry is reflected in our self-responsible, cooperative approach. The bevh is committed to modern retailing, which uses the Internet as a core competency and enables the customer to secure shopping on all channels.
We help our members to offer e-commerce "best in class", to recognize the challenges of the digital economy at an early stage and thus to be successful in the competition on a long-term basis. Since 1947 the association exists. This shows that we think sustainably, not in the short term. The bevh represents the interests of all trading companies, who use the possibilities of e-commerce for innovative business models.
Our members are strong, independent and sustainably successful trading companies. As an association, we support them in the successful development of the company by providing operational excellence in e-commerce and promoting the exchange of know-how.
